Book Description The older children get, the more words they know and can use-including hurtful words. This book teaches children to think before they speak, then choose what to say and how to say it. They learn that there is a connection between hurtful words and feelings of anger, sadness, and regret. They explore positive ways to respond when others say mean or unkind words to them. And they discover the importance of saying "I'm sorry," two little words that can be a big help. Includes activities and discussion starters that parents, caregivers, and educators can use when working with children. Change the page count to 40 pp. Add the age range of Ages 4-7.

Great teaching tool June 13, 2008 M. Tillman (Memphis, TN USA) This book (and the entire series) is a great teaching tool for little ones. Often times, when my daughter needs a "reminder" about choosing her words carefully, we put this in our bedtime story rotation.
Great Start to Teach Children To Use Words May 31, 2008 SUE (NEW YORK) This is a great book to teach children that hands are not for hitting but rather helping. Another book that should be read by every parent and teacher of children 3-12 is Bully-Proofing Children: A Practical, Hands-On Guide to Stop Bullying.Parents and teachers can learn to create nurturing environments where children can get along;help children to express anger and use words to resolve conflict;teach social skills including friendship.... It should be on the shelf of every home and classroom.

Content of the book is great but the board pages of the book I received were bent and twisted.
Great book for Pre-K December 15, 2007 Kristi Fisk (GA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this book for my son. He really enjoys it. It is simple enough that my toddler enjoys it also
Great book for 2 -3 year olds October 19, 2007 Carol Hedgspeth (Bowie, MD United States) Love this book. It's simple message is SO important, particularly for toddlers who are just learning how language can be helpful and hurtful. This book has great pictures and images, and a powerful message that should be reinforced in all toddlers (and parents, too!).
