Product Description
For Max and Pinky every Saturday is Adventure Day. Today is Saturday, but where is Pinky? Has he gotten lost or carried away by bunnies—or is he just off somewhere stuffing himself with marshmallows? 5 out of 5 stars Addictive!   November 14, 2008

What a wonderfully refreshing book & series! My 3 1/2 year old son and I both find them incredibly amusing. My son is so taken with Max and Pinky that he has me tell him a new Max and Pinky story each night before bed. My stories aren't nearly as good as Mr. Eaton's, however. Hooray for Max and Pinky!

I bought this book for my 6 y/o son, after hearing about it on the radio compared to Calvin and Hobbes, and seeing the great reviews on amazon. While there is nothing really wrong with the book, I was expecting more content, like multi-panel pages like a comic book. This is really a picture book for 2-3 year olds. Perhaps if that's what I was expecting, I would have liked it more.

5 out of 5 stars My daughter and I BOTH love this book   October 9, 2007

I have always loved children's books and even as an adult I accumulated a decent collection of books that I thought were enjoyable. Once I had children of my own I was eager to share my books with them only to find that most of the humor goes right over their heads. I was so excited when I checked this book out at the library and discovered that it not only made me laugh, but my 5YO daughter as well! It is easy to read and the pictures are adorable with several "comic book" talk/thought bubbles to go along with the story. This is truly a great read for kids and parents alike! (As soon as I am done writing this review, I am ordering the second Max and Pinky book which is the real reason I logged onto Amazon today.)

5 out of 5 stars Three Silly Chicks Review   October 1, 2007

Max and Pinky are best friends. Max is a boy. Pinky is a pig. (An odd pair, you say? Frankly, we can't figure out why there aren't more stories about boy/pig friendships.) One day, on Adventure Saturday, Max can't find Pinky anywhere. Max worries that Pinky might have been taken away by a gang of crazed bunnies. (We often have this same fear when we can't find something.) Fortunately, the rear end of a polar bear reminds Max of the snack food Pinky loves so dearly. Max hurries to Pinky's not-so-secret stash and finds his pal happily pigging out on marshmallows. Phew! All is well in their world (and ours!) once again.

We love the quirkiness of this story. (Pigs, polar bears and marshmallows? Hey, it works for us!) The simple illustrations and straightforward text will appeal to three and four year-olds. We hear there will be more adventures with Max and Pinky, and we couldn't be happier!
