Product Description If pets could talk, what would they say Maybe Fur is for petting, backs are for scratching, noses are for nuzzling . . . and tails are not for pulling! Toddlers and pets belong together - as long as toddlers dont chase, grab, squeeze, yank, and tease. In simple words and delightful illustrations, this book teaches the basics of kindness to animals: careful handling, awareness, safety, and respect. It also includes helpful tips for parents and caregivers.24 page illustrated 7 x 7 inch, full-color board book.

Simple but straight forward December 1, 2008 N. Dyer (Dublin, CA USA) This is a simple book to talk about how to treat your pets. We had been having some problems with out toddler and our dog and this book was suggested to us. We have read it a few times and my daughter seems to get the point of the descriptions, but I'm not sure it has changed any behavior yet, but I think it is laying a good ground work for the future. The pictures are bright and cheery and age appropriate.
Excellent Book July 5, 2008 T. M. Faucett I bought this book for my two year old son. We have a dog, and he started getting rough with her. He LOVES this book!!!! He always goes and gets it and wants us to read it to him. He loves the page with the animal sounds, and he learned to do them all. He has not hit the dog recently, but still tries to sit on her. But overall, I think this is an excellent choice, and very cute book!
Watch out Diezel April 5, 2008 Kara Sejd (Oswego Illinois) My child has special needs. We had great luck with the hands are not for hitting book so when I saw this one I knew Diezle, our golden retriever would appreciate it ! Well it did not work out in his favor ! I am sorry to report that my son loved reading this book but was compelled to pull the dogs tail even more immediatly after reading the book, every time ! I think it is well written but perhaps not for ever childs mind. We have since donated the book to our school's library.

Really nice book to teach little ones about their pets. It has a great section at the end with advice for parents.
