What a find!! September 11, 2008 I gave this book to three wonderful grand-daughters, ages 10, 14 and 15 and they loved it. They found it humorous and informative. I my self had a great time looking through it. I had already gotten the Most Dangerous Book for Boys and was thrilled to see my Grandson carrying it around every where he went. He is 12 and pesters his grandfather to help put together the projects. Wonderful books for wonderful kids, thank you.
LIARS! August 24, 2008 This book is a lie.I tried to make a cystal from the instructions in this book, twice! and nothing happened! A rock sat in water for a week and nothing happened! I also tried to give her friend the morse code and she didn't even understand! I tried to make the frog and it fell apart! I think this book is stupid and it is going to make girls cry because they can't do it. I think the author should try doing these things before she puts them in her book.
(Mostly) practical guide for girls July 2, 2008 D. Williams (Wisconsin USA) I liked this one better than the boys' version because, for the most part, the tips in this book were more applicable to normal life. With the exception of surviving an alien invasion or a zombie attack.
Some of my favorites: keeping your shoes smalling fresh (I'll have to try this with my derby pads and skates), dealing with bullies, traveling light, studying for exams, eating with chopsticks, and basic ballet positions.
Great book! June 27, 2008 Janna N. Wilborn Great buy, my 10 year old daughter loves it, my son likes to read it, it's just a fun book all around!
Better title? June 24, 2008 Joey Anetsberger (Huntington Beach, CA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
A better title for this book would be A girls guide on how to be an obnoxious, ignorant, stuck up brat. Not only are today's younger girls becoming more superficial, misinformed, ignorant, and mindless, this book only reinforces it by providing a form of authority to support lousy behavior. I read through this book and every page boggled my mind at how anyone would want their young daughters to read this kind of garbage. Yes, this book is full of misinformation (the section on animals), tells girls to behave like stuck up snobs (celebrity page), and promotes irritating and obnoxious behavior (how to annoy people). So what does a girl gain from reading this? She doesn't become more educated, Doesn't become more informed, doesn't become smarter, doesn't get to think about anything, doesn't become better at anything. Looks like anyone with any kind of idea can publish any lousy book nowadays and make money by taking advantage of people's apathy about everything.
