I've had this book
that's covered in dirt
for years
and years
and years.
(apologies to Michael Rosen)I loved this book into the ground, the binding fell apart years ago, so I had to buy a new copy, and now the old one sits quietly in a special drawer at home. (I'm a college student.) It has classics such as Rosen's "I've had this shirt..." and Masefield's Sea Fever.
There's everything from Anthem for Doomed Youth (Wilfred Owen), to "Be kind and tender to the frog, and do not call him names..." Poems for kids, poems for everybody.
Best loved.
